Abstract

The representatives of social roles theory (J.L. Moreno, A. Bandura, H. Mead) claim that
gender differences constitute a product of social roles, which in their turn, maintain or depress in men and
women concrete variants of behavior. Various roles develop more skills and attitudes that generate
different behavior for both genders. Research of men and women behavior in the situations they face, in
particular, tense situations, always presented interest for those who study gender topics. This interest has
caused our research about the dependence of behavior type on gender factor. The author analyzes the
experimental results obtained applying the projective method “Images”, to the sample of 230 subjects of
preschool (78 - around 6 years), elementary school (72 - around 8 years) and preadolescence (78 - around
13 years) age. The results complement with new data our representations about preferred behavioral type
in conflict situations by girls and boys. The analysis of research results in dynamics, as related to the
three ages, revealed the general tendencies for the specific types of behavior for each particular gender
