Abstract

The impact of continuous training on the attractiveness of the Math school discipline and learning outcomes demonstrated by students is assessed. The attractiveness of the discipline is measured by the share of high school graduates who have chosen Math in the baccalaureate examinations. As learning outcomes, the average grades in mathematics taken by pupils in national evaluations are considered. It has been found that in the case of teachers who have undergone continuous training, the attractiveness of Math increases. At the same time, the hypothesis that students taught by teachers who have undergone continuous training in Math would receive higher grades has been rejected.
