Abstract
There are multiple concepts, in the study of psychology, about the factors that determine the psychological development and the formation of one's personality. After a lot of theoretical, experimental and practical research about the participation of students in diverse mathematical olympiads and contests along the years, as a generalisation of the results of our analysis, we elaborated and formulated the concept of the resultant. This concept is our guideline in the theoretico-methodological approach to the training of gifted students for these olympiads and contests.
