GLOBAL TRENDS IN EDUCATION AND THEIR IMPACT ON DEVELOPMENT OF EDUCATION IN REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA

Abstract

The objective of this article is to highlight the trends and the challenges as regards the development of education and training in the context of an information-based society, grounded on knowledge; trends which the authors believe are highly topical for pedagogical theory and practice in the Republic of Moldova. These trends may serve as a basis for reconfiguring the current educational process with a view to enhancing its alignment to the individual and social requirements of development, in the context of a learning society. At the strategic level, the acquisition of key competencies through basic education should be considered the basic direction in the development of educational policy documents on the design and implementation of educational training for the development of the human personality in the information society, based on knowledge. Following the same logic of curricular development, from the perspective of key competencies, the main normative documents for  esigning teaching-learningassessment activities carried out at the level of the educational process should have been reformed later - the curriculum, curriculum framework timetable and textbooks, so that the process be redirected to the training-development of key competencies.
