Abstract

The article features various theoretical approaches to the concepts of quality of life and psychosocial adaptability. Quality of life is a complex concept that has been studied from the perspective of several disciplines: psychology, philosophy, medicine, economics, environmental sciences, sociology. From a psychological standpoint, the analysis of the quality of life notion has led to the approximation of this concept to that of subjective well-being, as a result of including both life satisfaction and positive and negative emotions in their conceptual sphere. From the point of view of contemporary societal approaches, we consider the personality quality of life to be in direct relation to psychosocial adaptability. As a matter of fact, scientists believe that the degree of psychosocial adaptability is determined by the adaptive resources of the individual and by the characteristics of the concrete environment in the context of which the satisfaction of the basic needs of the individual takes place in a positive attitude.
