Abstract
In this article, the author highlights the issue of the initial assessment of the level of holistic development of preschool children (3-6 years old), from the perspective of the Holistic Development Domains provided for in the Romanian Early Childhood Education Curriculum (2019), in instructional-educational activities with nature-based teaching aids. Thus, several behavioral items specific to the holistic development domains of preschoolers are briefly described and, at the same time, initial assessment methods are exemplified (didactic games, worksheets, practical, aesthetic-creative activities, etc.), for establishing the incipient level of holistic development of kindergarten children with the use of nature-based teaching aids. Several personal initial assessment activities are exemplified and some of the results of the initial assessment process are recorded.
