Abstract

The development of digital tools for education, the variety of digital components, dynamic
change of requirements for the digital skills of academics require a continuous process of self-training ,
conducted mostly in the digital space and realized mostly with digital tools. The ongoing process of
knowledge acquisition involves accumulation and processing of considerable volumes of resources, which
can then be made available to the trainees. The purpose of this paper is to identify a digital model of the
informational space that can be used at different stages as a space for self instruction or as space for
teaching / training. The abstract model of informational space determines space components and

functional links between them. Virtual model, developed using Web 2.0 confirms viability of the abstract
model, being in the same time an example easy to be realized by academics.
