The integration of Moodle to enhance literature teaching in digital educational settings

Abstract

This study examines the use of Moodle as a digital platform for a British Literature course designed for second-year EFL students at “Ion Creangă” State Pedagogical University of Chișinău. Covering sixteen thematic units from the Anglo-Saxon to the Neoclassical period, the course leverages Moodle’s features - H5P exercises, multimedia content, and assessment tools - to enhance student engagement and support the development of analytical and language skills. Findings demonstrate Moodle’s effectiveness in delivering structured content, fostering interactive learning, and enabling comprehensive assessment. The platform’s modular design and pedagogical versatility make it particularly well-suited for literary instruction. This case study highlights the potential of technology to enrich EFL education and promote deeper literary engagement.
