Abstract
In Romania, education and vocational training of children and young people has as main purpose the training of skills, understood as a multifunctional and transferable set of knowledge, skills/skills and attitudes. In this article I presented the concept of competence as a whole, as the finality of the instructional-educational process. The first part of the paper defines the concept of competence in the context of educational policies at national and European level. Part two highlights the relationship between cross-cutting competences and the curriculum. The last part presents the link between the curriculum, learning outcomes, skills, evaluation and incorporation in the labour marketof graduates of vocational and technical education.
