Abstract
In the current educational context of the information society, the concept of competence plays a fundamental role in the reconceptualization of learning processes, with a significant impact on both STEM and humanities disciplines. In particular, within the subject of Computer Science, this reconceptualization targets the transition from a traditional model focused on knowledge acquisition to an active and collaborative learning model aimed at developing transversal competencies and encouraging students' involvement in community life. This approach is especially relevant within the optional module 5B Experimental Methods in the Humanities, designed for 12th-grade students. This article aims to explore key directions such as: the transition from passive learning to active student participation in socially impactful projects; the role of interdisciplinary projects in strengthening the relationship between school and community; and the development of experimental competencies in the socio-humanistic sciences through the integrated use of information and communication technologies (ICT) and ST(R)E(A)M initiatives.
