Abstract
The article analyzes the causes of the weak involvement of citizens, including young people, in the life of communities. The relationship between digitization processes and democratization processes is researched. Arguments are made in favor of the integration of the course "Education for society" and the optional module "Experimental methods in the humanities" of the school computer science course.
